Brooks PreciseFlex
Brooks PreciseFlex Brooks is proud to present the first full line of intrinsically safe, collaborative tabletop robots. Unlike many other collaborative robots, which are intrinsically dangerous robots operating in a collaborative mode, Brooks' collaborative robots were specifically designed to limit all collision forces. These robots will not injure users or equipment even if they collide with them at full speed. All Precise collaborative robots have been measured and certified by TUV to exert forces that fall within the force guidelines for collaborative robots as defined by the recent ISO/TS 15066 Standard on Collaborative Robots. Even maximum speed collisions in free space are well under the ISO force limits for operator safety. However, in order to use a robot in an application without safety shields, the application as a whole (including end effectors, operation methods, objects being handled and obstacles in the workcell) must be evaluated for safety. For more information on the evaluation of applications and workcells without safety shields, please contact Brooks PreciseFlex. This revolutionary new class of robots makes it possible to automate processes that could never be automated before: working with human counterparts on an assembly line, on desktops of analytical labs and in clinical diagnostic environments. Brooks' family of collaborative robots was designed especially for these new applications. All of our robots feature our Guidance Controller. This controller's extremely small footprint permits it, and the other required electronics, to be embedded inside of the robot's structure, eliminating large external control boxes and bulky harnesses. These lightweight robots can be carried by one person, mounted on a table and, by plugging in just an AC power cord and an Ethernet cable, are ready to operate. Traditional robotic applications can also benefit from collaborative robots. Removing the need for safety barriers reduces the workcell space required and allows users to access the active workcell while the robot is still in operation. This creates a mixed manufacturing environment where robots and people can work side by side in a safe and effective manner. It also allows for automated workcells to be efficiently integrated into a line that was previously all done by hand. Brooks PreciseFlex offers a wide variety of collaborative automation products including PF400 SCARA robot, DDR 4 & 6-axis articulated robot, PP100 Cartesian robot and Guidance Motion Controllers, which can add collaborative control to other robot configurations. |
